Siouxland African Association (SAFAS) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that seeks to advocate and provide opportunities, a network of programs and support services to promote social, cultural, academic, physical and emotional well-being for individuals and families of native Africans and African Diaspora to develop responsible self-expression, leadership enhancement, and citizenship.
We also seek to educate and build a bridge for partnership and service with our non-African community members.
Annual Festival
Siouxland African Festival (SA Fest) is a FREE event that celebrates the diversity and culture of African countries represented in Siouxland. The program of activities includes but not limited to Parade of African Nations; Exhibition of African artifiacts, serving of various African cusinies, drumming and dancing, and more. The event takes place usually on the first Saturday of August of every year. Since 2015, the event has grown, and generally brings in 500+ attendees.
Our Vision
We hold events that embrace and celebrate all Africans, regardless of their religious, geographical, and ethnic background.
Community Engagement
We sponsor and support community-based multicultural events that continue to educate and build a bridge for partnership and service with our non-African community members.
